What are some barriers to teachers to teach English in a way that's motivating to students now?

Main Barriers involved in the Curriculum

We can find many different barriers that teachers have to face. However, in Chapter 5 of ESL/EFL of Freeman & Freeman book, we can see some barriers clearly.

Future-Orient
ed Curriculum, Grammar-Based and Vocabulary are the most important barriers that seem to be the most difficult to overcome.

We all know the curriculum always gives a future vision of why the students are learning a certain subject. The idea is to pull apart the "Future-oriented" curriculum and help the students to learn that things are worth now.

Vocabulary is other feature that it is mentioned as well. I think when students are learning a new vocabulary, they found that the words are not necessarily words that are meaningful for them. That is why I think that students should learn words that are used in daily and real situations.

Finally, we have this Grammar-based approach. We can see that making grammar exercise is
the most common and frequent resource used by teachers. However, I strongly believe that students, need real and authentic situations to learn. For example, what to do if you want to complain about a faulty product. We read about this barriers; however, I think that sometimes we can find any other, that are not related to the curriculum and they have a lot to do with the teacher him/her self.
