Since I have not had the chance to know any other school apart from the Chilean ones, I think that visiting these school was something pretty interesting for my personal experience and for my future career as an English as a foreign language.
First of all, I would like to mention that I found out that American and Chilean schools have a lot of differences in terms of materials. I noticed that all the materials required for Art class was provided were given by the school. This is very different in Chile, since there, parents have to get the materials and sometimes schools ask for a specific trademark.
Secondly, I want to point out the fact that in Chile there are not students with a variety of background. We just have native Chilean students and a few minorities of students that belongs to the aboriginal population. I believe that what I mentioned above can be the biggest difference between USA and Chile, on the grounds that in America you have to deal with people from all over the world, especially Latin American students.
I also think that there are no significant differences in system or way of things. However, in Chile the norms that are established people do not agree with them and they just avoid them.
I thought that I would found differences between Chile and USA, but I had never imagined that it would be in terms of the kind of students that attend and related to the fact that the school provides the material needed for class as well.
